The CBLI Young Adult Community is an intimate group that meets for worship, Bible study, leadership training and fellowship each day during CBLI. As a result, powerful connections are made and a strong sense of community is formed within a group of peers (ages 18-29) who understand where you are on your journey.
This year we will explore "Holiness." Returning instructors Captains Rutendo and Terry Masango will be our Bible Study teachers and Lieutenants Olivia and Pratik Munn-Shirsath will be our Leadership Soapbox instructors.
Captain Terry Masango – Bible Study Instructor
Captain Terry Masango was born and raised in one of the poorest high-density townships in Harare, Zimbabwe and The Salvation Army provided a place of refuge for him. He married his wife Rutendo in 1999 and they have partnered in ministry ever since. Commissioned in 2004, they have held appointments in Washington and California, most recently as corps officers of Pasadena Tabernacle in 2016. Captain Terry is a sought after speaker, who travels throughout North America preaching and teaching the Word of God. He holds a BA in Leadership and Ethics from Nazarene Bible College, a Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University. Terry’s hobbies include preaching, reading, watching and playing soccer and spending quality time with his two beautiful children, Fiela (15) and Tanaka (10).
Olivia and Pratik Munn-Shirsath – Leadership Soapbox Instructors
Olivia and her husband, Pratik, are the corps officers of the Times Square Corps in midtown Manhattan. She has a passion for creative arts and urban ministry. Olivia has served in different locations in New York City throughout the past five years, and her current corps is a theater ministry for performing artists. Olivia and Pratik are the founders of The Glory Shop, a school for discipling artists in the heart of the city. Olivia is an author as well, and her first book, The Uprising: A Holy Revolution?, is about the radical notion that holiness is possible. She loves preaching, writing, cooking and trying new restaurants.
Pratik was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. He is a fourth generation Salvationist, a graduate of the Project 1:17 discipleship school and has served for many years in NYC as a youth minister. Pratik also has a degree in photography and is committed to reaching souls and introducing people to heaven’s perspective of them. He firmly believes that creativity is God’s beautiful gift to humanity and that it should be used to bring God glory. Pratik is a testament of God’s grace and the power prayer and is committed to see the whole world redeemed and saved so that: Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
